Golden milk
Here’s a classic Golden Milk (Turmeric Latte) recipe — a warm, soothing, and anti-inflammatory drink made with turmeric and other healing spices:
I first discovered golden milk during a stressful season of my life, juggling motherhood, studies, and a constant sense of fatigue. While flipping through my herbal notes one night, I came across turmeric, a spice I’d grown up seeing in the kitchen but never truly appreciated.
I decided to try it, just warm milk, turmeric, a bit of cinnamon, and a pinch of black pepper. I added honey and took a slow sip… and something shifted. It calmed my racing mind and soothed the ache in my joints.
Since that night, golden milk has become more than just a drink — it’s a quiet ritual I return to. It reminds me that healing doesn’t always have to be complicated. Sometimes, it’s as simple as a warm cup, sipped in silence, with intention.
Here’s the recipe that changed my evenings I hope it brings you the same comfort it brought me.
Ingredients
1 cup milk of choice (almond, coconut, or dairy)
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
A pinch of black pepper (enhances turmeric absorption)
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger (optional)
1/2 teaspoon coconut oil or ghee (optional, helps absorption and adds richness)
1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (to taste)
A pinch of ground cardamom or nutmeg (optional, for extra flavor)
Instructions:
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine all ingredients except honey.
Whisk continuously until hot but not boiling (about 5 minutes).
Remove from heat, stir in honey or sweetener if using.
Pour into a mug and enjoy warm.
